Holiday Success Starts Now! Plan Your Holiday 24 Initiative

Summer is officially in full swing, and while the holiday season is likely not top of mind, success for Holiday 24 starts now.

The holiday season is an opportunity to tell your story, reach more customers, and support business growth through PR, influencers, partnerships and on your owned channels. To make this happen, get ahead of things this year and plan an initiative for the holiday season – this is something you will announce/promote during the holiday season to support your business goals.

To help you identify and start developing your Holiday 24 initiative, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Write Out Your Holiday Goals & Objectives

When coming up with any initiative for your business, it’s important that it supports your overarching business goals. Before you decide on your Holiday 24 initiative, outline clear goals for the holiday season and think about things you could do to help you reach those goals.

For example, if one of your goals this holiday season is to increase brand awareness, consider partnering with an influencer or brand to get in front of their audience. If your goal is to increase sales during the holiday season, consider pulling together a holiday collection or promotion, or participate in holiday pop ups.

Consider these reflection questions to help you set your holiday goals:

  • What are your top three goals for this holiday season?

  • Are there any dream placements or partnerships you want to go after?

  • At the end of the year, what do you want to feel and where do you want your business to be?

Step 2: Identify Your Holiday 24 Initiative

Your Holiday 24 initiative could be anything from a product launch to a content series. It all depends on your goals and your business. Here are some thought starters to help you identify what yours is:

  • It could be something you are launching such as a product launch, new service or collaboration

  • It could be taking your existing products and creating a Holiday 24 collection

  • It could be positioning your expertise, service, or offering for the holiday season

  • It could be an activation, like a sale, pop-up, event, or special promo

  • It could be a content play, like a holiday content series, challenge, or a free download

Step 3: Outline Your Holiday 24 Initiative

Once you identify your Holiday 24 initiative, start putting pen to paper on the details. Here are some categories to think through:

  • Overview - What are you creating or offering this holiday season?

  • Target Audience - Who is your ideal customer/audience for this initiative?

  • Timing - When is it happening?

  • Budget - Will there be any additional budget or out of pocket costs required to support your initiative?

Once you’ve gone through these steps, the next phase is to create a timeline and think about how you can strategically support your initiative through content, press and partnerships. We go into these steps and much more in detail in our Holiday 24 Planning & Pitching video lesson and worksheet included in our membership.
