Free Download: 2025 Small Business Planner + 3 Quick Steps to Get Ready for the New Year!
As we wrap up 2024, we’re working with our members to reflect on the past year and set goals for 2025 in preparation for building our 2025 PR Plans together in January.
As you put pen to paper on initial planning, start by reflecting on the past year. This quick 3 step reflection exercise will get you in a strategic planning mindset.
Step 1: Celebrate Your Wins
Take a moment to think about the progress you have made over the past year. What were your wins, big and small? As a small business owner there is always more to do, and it’s important to pause, look at how far you’ve come, and encourage yourself to keep going.
Step 2: Identify Setbacks or Challenges
Identify any setbacks or challenges you faced this past year and think about how you can avoid them or move through them more productively in the future.
What didn’t go as planned in 2024?
Is there anything you could have done differently to avoid these setbacks or to move through them better?
What lessons did you learn from these experiences?
How can you apply what you’ve learned from these lessons moving forward into a new year?
Step 3: Clarify Your Goals
Based on your reflections, start thinking about your goals for the upcoming year. Ask yourself:
What do you most want to achieve in 2025?
Where do you want to be and what do you want to be known for by the end of 2025?
How can you build on your successes from the past year?
What did you not accomplish last year that you want to in 2025?
The new year is a fresh start and an opportunity to grow your business with renewed energy. By reflecting on the past and planning for the future, you’ll set yourself up for your best year yet.
